Bio
Richard Saxton is a contemporary artist known for his collaborative projects with the municipalWORKSHOP (2000-2007) and the M12 Group (2007-Present). Saxton works in the fields of sculpture, architecture, design, and public art with a focus on community and site-based projects. His work has been exhibited internationally with recent exhibitions at Galeria Kiosko in Santa Cruz, Bolivia; the Ewing Gallery of Art and Architecture at the University of Tennessee; the Contemporary Museum in Baltimore, Maryland; the Soap Factory in Minneapolis, Minnesota; the Irish Museum of Modern Art in Dublin, and at Wall House #2 in Groningen, the Netherlands. Saxton's permanent projects are located at the Center for Land Use Interpretation in Wendover, Utah; the Kohler Art Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin; and in the cities of York, Alabama; Indianapolis, Indiana; and Wilmington, Delaware. Saxton has been the recipient of numerous grants and residencies, and his work has been published in several books and journals including, Dialogue, Readymade, Crit, artUS, API, and Sculpture Magazine. Saxton currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Sculpture at the University of Colorado in Boulder.
